Haytor Overlook Dartmoor England

A path not taken is no Path at All.
Words not spoken are no Words at all.
Which way will I go and what will I hear ?
At the Overlook I stand upon the Rock face of Monolithic man
and his Face is under Me Now. And I, the Significant Leftover am in the Dock.
What shall I say ? What will I hear in return ?
I Am all there is ! Every part is in the Details.
No Dice are played here. Must I decide my Morality from Solomon’s Song,
which is the Right and which is the Wrong.
Will I jump over the face of Monolithic man ?
Will I do it Now that I Can ?
Robert William Streeter.

It was one of those beautiful autumn days in 1975 and I am about
and about roving Dartmoor in Devonshire England. I had climbed the Tor
and looked toward the rock outcrop toward the south west when this
gentleman ambled to the top with his dog. The dog chose to disappear
beyond the ridge and lo and behold my unknown model slowly and surely
crept towards the edge ! It was as if he came solely for my benefit. The
possession of a 135mm lens was very useful. I’ve always enjoyed the
image but its difficult to work with because of the original contrast
inherent in the original material.
